Sick of feeling knackered and run down at the end of every week? We hear ya! Whether you’re struggling to get to sleep or finding it impossible to get yourself up, we’ve put together some top tips on how to sleep better and get in those zzz’s.
Sneaky caffeine
Coffee in the morning is a must, we get it. But be careful that you’re not over doing it in the afternoon. Caffeine is in soft drinks, chocolate bars, tea, breakfast cereals, frozen yogurt – even headache remedies! Just watch your caffeine levels after 12pm!
Block it out
Exposure to light during the day is beneficial but at night-time it has the opposite effect. Turn off that TV and any bright lights 2 hours before heading to bed to trick your brain into an early relaxed state.
Magnificent magnesium
Magnesium has a great number of benefits for the body including calcium absorption and relieving anxiety. It’s a great post-work out supplement and research shows that it leads to great sleep. Give it a go!
Alcohol cut back
No one likes to wake up to a wine-headache but alcohol is also known to increase the symptoms of disrupted sleep patterns. No more night caps!
