When it comes to looking your best, there’s a ton of helping hands that mother nature has given us to enhance your natural assets. We’ve compiled a bunch of helpful, totally natural ways that you can lengthen your locks, with a bit of patience and prep!
We’re all familiar with the range of natural oils and serums that you can use to treat your locks, more important however than what you are doing externally, is ensuring that you have a balanced diet filled with all the nutrients that you need!
There are a number of vitamins and minerals that have been proven to contribute to healthy, long luscious hair, which all occur in nature.
Vitamin C
Not just killer at busting colds, Vitamin C is our first natural superstar when it comes to hair growth. Think beyond oranges and citrus fruit, broccoli, cauliflower and sweet potato are all veggies packed with vit C goodness.
If you prefer a sweet treat, turn to papaya and kiwis, sprinkle generously on top of your morning smoothie bowl to boost your intake every day!
Vitamin A
A skincare superstar, anti-ageing and great for your eyes! Vitamin A is found in many different foods, including eggs, meat, dairy, liver, kidney, cod, and fish oil. Interestingly enough fruit and veggies that are orange are also quite high in Vitamin A (we can’t promise that your carrots will give you night vision though.
A word of warning, many of the foods listed above are filled with saturated fat and cholesterol, which in large quantities can be detrimental to your overall health, so moderate intake is always best!
Vitamin E
Stretchmark busting and super nourishing when applied to your skin, Vitamin E intake does wonders for your hair growth when taken internally. Reach for some nuts when you’re feeling snackish, or use sunflower oil in your cooking, and be sure to up your intake of dark, leafy veggies like kale and spinach to ensure that you have sufficient intake!
Biotin
Biotin fits in to the ‘B Vitamin Complex’ family, and is sometimes referred to as ‘Vitamin H’. If you’re looking to get your biotin from your daily fruit and veg, spinach, mushrooms and sweet potato are all stuffed full of it! Like vitamin A, many nuts are also high in biotin (so reach for those raw almonds for some 2 in 1 goodness).
Zinc
Interestingly, our bodies don’t store zinc for later use, so this one is super important to make sure that you’re getting in your daily diet! The best news here is that DARK CHOCOLATE, apart from tasting amazing, is relatively high in zinc! Pop a few squares after dinner and curb your sugar cravings, while helping your hair at the same time.
As you can tell, there’s a lot of different things that you need to balance in your diet to create conditions absolutely optimal for hair growth.
It’s not all kale and leafy greens though - All of the key nutrients listed above can be found in your hair care gummies… Just pop two of these a day! It’s that easy!
