10,000 steps a day seems to be the magic number recommended by the health experts. This may seem like a lot to squeeze in your day but following our tips and tricks, you’ll be racking up the steps without even noticing!
- Take the Stairs
- Whenever possible, say no to the elevator and escalator and take the stairs. If you live in an apartment or a multi level office, you’ll be smashing those steps in no time!
- Walk & Talk
- When talking on the phone at home or in the office, pace around to get your steps up.
- Switch coffee dates to walking dates
- instead of going out for coffee with friends, why not order a juice to go and take a walk around your local park.
- Brush and march!
- When brushing your teeth, march on the spot just to squeeze in those extra steps.
- Park & walk
- If you’re someone that drives everywhere, try and park your car that little bit further away to get your steps up. Try this when taking the bus too! Get off one stop earlier.
- Utilise your lunch break
- Get out of the office and go for a walk on your lunch break for some fresh air and extra steps.
- Early for an appointment?
- Rather than sit in the waiting room, go for a brisk walk around the area to kill the time.
